VMI Moms-in-Prayer Supports Cadets and their Families

VMI Moms in Prayer is a support group for Moms of incoming Rats. The original group was created in 1995. A Moms-in-Prayer Group for the 2022+3 Rat Mass Moms has been organized to support 2022+3 Moms as they share prayer requests, needs and establish friendships with like-minded moms. Our children have chosen to "Not Do Ordinary," and this page is a way to support them with prayers for their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It is also a way for the Moms to support each other as we remain on the sidelines while our sons and daughters go through Hell Week and the Rat Line (it is a LONG 6 months). Confidentiality is critical to this group; it must be a safe place where moms can share their prayers and needs knowing that it will not be repeated and lead to unwanted attention for their son or daughter. Therefore, it is REALLY important that we DO NOT share anything that is said on this page with our Rats or individuals outside the page. To create the necessary environment, the Moms in Prayer group is a closed group on Facebook that only the 2022+3 Rat Moms can join. Upon contact, your request will be reviewed to ensure that you are a mom of a 2022+3 rat and that your Facebook page is not shared. On matriculation day the group is supporting Chaplain Phillips' Prayer Service starting at 2:00 PM in JM Hall to pray for our children as they start the rat line. Fellowship is a blessing. God is our children's foundation, strength, protector, and provider. Immediately following the Rats march up to barracks Moms-in-Prayer will be holding a social at the home of Adrea Thomas at 95 Pinehurst Drive, Lexington, Virginia. The group is also planning a Moms-in-Prayer Parents Weekend Gathering on Thursday, October 7, 2021, @ 3:00 PM in Moody Hall. The group maintains two Facebook pages that include: VMI 2022+3 Moms in Prayer and VMI Rat Mass 2022+3 Parent Legacy Page.
